The County of Brant is undergoing significant growth. I will advocate for a balanced, managed approach that draws on sound financial judgement and thoughtful land-useplanning. Our growth must support strong communities without putting pressure on existing services.

The County has many capital projects underway and proposed. I will support investments only where the long-term benefit to residents clearly outweigh the costs,
projects meet demonstrated community needs and spending delivers value for the
greatest number of residents.

Residents deserve to know about and help shape changes that affect their community and quality of life. I will work for earlier, clearer and more accessible public engagement
so community input informs decisions before plans are too far advanced.

Growth should be directed responsibly. I will advocate for protecting our prime agricultural land and focus future development on appropriate areas so we preserve the farmland that supports local food production and rural livelihoods.
Meet Mary-Jane
I am a lifelong resident of Brant, growing up on a small farm on Powerline Road. I have always loved this area and our rural way of life. I attended the University of Guelph, obtaining my Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. Over 40 years ago, I realized my dream of owning my own farm and I have lived in Ward 1 ever since.
For decades, I have worked for local farmers and business owners as a Chartered Professional Accountant. I understand the challenges facing farmers and the concerns of rural residents and will bring this voice to County of Brant Council.
I have served for XX years on the County’s Committee of Adjustments, reviewing minor property zoning
exceptions, land divisions and legal building uses.
During my years of service, I have learned that good local government depends on listening to residents, making evidence-informed decisions and being accountable for those decisions.
The County of Brant has undergone significant growth and transformation in the past number of years. As we look to the future, we need knowledgeable, accessible voices at
County Council. As your councillor, I will bring integrity and experience to every decision.
